Danielle Béland

A teacher committed to “igniting the spark”

“I chose teaching because I wanted to work with teenagers, capitalize on my creativity and avoid routine,” Danielle Béland admits. “I couldn’t have made a better choice!” With her love of the French language and the performing arts, Danielle has been in charge of the Cycle 1 theatre program at Séminaire Saint-François since 1999, a program in which all students are admitted, without an audition. Her goal? To enable everyone to try their hand at acting without fear of being judged. Every year, the students stage up to two productions and are able to discover a new passion, and sometimes even unsuspected talent. And her greatest reward is to see that little spark ignite in the eyes of her students.
